Enjoying Lynn Shore Drive

The beach is one of the things that attracts many visitors to Lynn, and it also draws many people to place their vacation homes in this beautiful Atlantic city. The Lynn Shore Drive offers lots of activities, including jogging, biking, and walking, and it offers access to Long Beach, King’s Beach, and Red Rock Park.

Along the drive, you’ll find lots of beautiful homes to admire, as well as plenty of natural attractions. The drive runs alongside the bay where boats are constantly being launched for fishing and sailing expeditions, and it also runs close to the Red Rock Park tide pools, where children and scientifically minded adults can enjoy looking at the marine plants and animals in the tide pools.

There is also a dune system nearby to Long Beach, which just begs to be explored by feet who are eager to get out of the car. Why not take a picnic lunch to the beach and enjoy running up and down the dunes before you eat? The dunes are a great place to take a family, since they are normally quiet and private feeling. They also are home to some of the area’s unique birds and wildlife, so you can easily check out some of the east coast’s interesting animals.

At the Park Headquarters, you’ll find a bathhouse for your convenience as well as a visitor’s center where you can check out information on the rest of the area’s attractions. Be aware that the Lynn Shore Reservation doesn’t have any public restrooms, so be prepared to carry out all of your waste on a trip. There is swimming available starting in May, though the Atlantic will still be cold, then, but there won’t be a lifeguard on duty along the drive, so you can swim at your own risk.
